Our teams consist of amazing volunteers from around the world. We not only require physicians and nurses, but always need anxillary persons to help with coordination of various activities, as well as helping with interpretation.
We always stay in safe, guarded compounds when out of the country and have wonderful people in Haiti who provide safe transportation while there.
Also a reminder, as a 501c3, all activities are deductible.
Giving Saves is a 501c3, non-profit, founded in 2010 after Kathleen Bowen, an RN working with medical teams in Haiti, met a local artist, Xavier Renel who was teaching street children painting and artwork. He had an art school in Montrouis , Haiti called the “Alternative Art Studio” and rented a home; running a small childrens home for twenty, as of 2010. Xavier coordinated their school and art education with the help of Giving Saves for ten years via trading their paintings for donations, as well as monetary donations which Kathleen hand carries to Haiti or send via Western Union. This was allowing these children to obtain a decent education while also learning a life skill, which may help them survive in a country where there is over 60% unemployment. This project ended in 2019, but Giving Saves continues to provide tuition help, as well as coordinating medical teams to travel to Haiti, Guatemala and Wendover Utah.
GIVING SAVES MISSION To raise funds and coordinate activities that will allow a person’s basic nutritional, health and educational needs to be met; concentrating on the underprivileged in third world countries.
